Portable Tower Designs

In the range of portable towers, this type is on the most portable end of the spectrum.

Most engineers look at a variety of factors, in many cases weighing the payload and height requirements against the cost, logistical challenges, and time required to deploy complete systems. Ultra portable towers tend to require the following considerations:

Strengths:

Minimal infrastructure requirement to transport
Minimal logistical challenge for deployment
Minimal cost of acquisition and deployment
Minimal maintenance / support cost
Small footprint transport / deployment

Weaknesses:

Limited payload volume
Limited height
Limited stability
Limited durability
If a light payload with limited height requirements will be deployed in a temporary setup at a remote location with low weather / ambient disturbance, the ultra light solution is often most fitting. Some of these solutions, as provided by Bluesky Mast and Wilburt are even one-man portable and can be deployed by a single individual in a very short (matter of minutes even) time frame.Portable towers have a range of applications from military to commercial. Tower builders like Bluesky Mast, Rohn, and Wilburt are reviewed at our site.{Portable Tower\nportable tower
